The Williamson County Rules Committee met on October 28, 2026. Members reviewed proposed revisions to the county commission’s rules ahead of a state-law deadline requiring the legislative body to adopt rules within 90 days of taking office. The committee discussed provisions on special-meeting notice, public notice and agendas, committee membership and appointments, roll-call votes, and the voting threshold for later rule changes. It approved the rules as amended unanimously, for consideration by the full commission at its November meeting. Members also discussed whether to add procedural requirements for commissioners’ resolutions, but took no action on that issue.

Procurement-related discussion was limited to the existing combined purchasing and insurance committee. Members noted that the purchasing committee is governed by the 1957 Purchasing Act and questioned whether the law specifies who appoints its members; counsel said this would be checked. The combination of the two committees was not changed, and resolution 99631 was mentioned as a possible reference. No procurement activity—such as a contract award, solicitation, vendor selection, or spending approval—was identified.
