The Metropolitan Nashville Community Review Board met on October 26, 2026. The board adopted a final report with eight recommendations for the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) on use-of-force classifications, proportionality, protections for vulnerable populations, de-escalation and training, bias, police vehicle use, early intervention, and data access and oversight. The board requested a written MNPD response documenting actions and timelines; members also discussed setting a reasonable response deadline. No contracts, purchases, or procurement-related budget actions were identified.

The board approved a recommendation to ask that the investigation into a delayed police response be reopened, and voted on a separate proposal to reopen a case concerning Miranda warnings; the proposal did not pass. Members discussed the statutory process for requesting subpoenas to obtain specifically identified records, including standard operating procedures, and considered contacting the Metro Council Public Safety Committee chair for guidance. Staff reported vacancies in compliance monitoring and administration, along with complaint intake and plans for public education and outreach. The chair also noted open board positions and encouraged the mayor to fill them.
