The Mountlake Terrace City Council work session on August 27, 2026, included a second-quarter financial report and reviews of several agreements and proposed code changes. The report noted that most expenditures were below 50% of budget through June, with the Main Street project the city’s largest capital expenditure to date. Council discussed the completed city branding and marketing project, whose cost was cited as more than $100,000 plus staff time; the plan authorizes no new spending, and individual implementation projects would require separate budgeting and council approval. Council members emphasized incorporating future branding, outreach, and placemaking work into operating and capital budgets.

Staff recommended placing Amendment No. 1 to the Snohomish County road-maintenance interlocal agreement on the next consent agenda to extend it through the end of 2029. Staff also proposed placing a T-Mobile wireless-facility lease amendment on the September 3 consent agenda: it would extend the lease through November 8, 2055, reduce the current monthly fee to $500 for the inactive “skeleton” site, and provide higher charges if additional companies co-locate. No final votes on these items were recorded at the work session. Proposed nuisance-code revisions were instead slated for further departmental review and discussion, with possible placement on the September 3 agenda.
