09-21-2026 Battle Ground City Council Regular Meeting

At its September 21, 2026 regular meeting, the Battle Ground City Council heard the Humane Society for Southwest Washington’s annual report on its existing animal-sheltering partnership with the city. HSSW reported 105 contracted intakes in 2025 and described sheltering, veterinary care, and animal-control support; the contract fee was not stated. Council members requested follow-up information on the city’s cost per animal and average hold time. HSSW said it is working with city staff on a dedicated animal drop-off zone on city property and offered to issue pet licenses at adoption or reclaim, returning all licensing fees to the city.
