The City of Sherwood’s fourth Technical Advisory Committee meeting on the Transportation System Plan (TSP) update, identified in the meeting title as October 28, 2026, reviewed proposed pedestrian, bicycle, transit, safety, multimodal, auto, freight, and rail solutions. A public commenter urged stronger emphasis on pedestrian connectivity, funding, and implementation, including preserving flexibility for challenging infill and terrain conditions. The committee discussed a proposed citywide pedestrian and bicycle network improvement program that could allocate funding annually to address gaps; the program is tentative and would require City Council support. The team will also assess funding availability over the next 20 years, project costs, potential set-asides for these programs, and project priorities.

Discussion covered location-specific crossings and safety treatments, possible roadway and trail connections, transit-study needs, and coordination with ODOT and Washington County. Members questioned the justification for a proposed Pine Street capacity improvement (A2); the group discussed removing it and addressing future congestion through policy or further analysis, with the issue to be raised at a City Council work session. The Brookman Trail and other network alignments remain subject to ongoing studies and public input. No contract awards, solicitations, vendor selections, or purchasing approvals were identified; the meeting focused on transportation planning and prospective infrastructure funding and projects.
