Arlington County’s October 29, 2026 joint work session with its Virginia General Assembly delegation focused on the County’s draft legislative package and priorities for the upcoming session. The package had not yet been adopted; public feedback was still being collected before a planned November Board vote. Priorities included affordable housing, transportation, public safety, energy and the environment, as well as preserving local authority and avoiding unfunded mandates. No contract awards, solicitations, vendor selections, or purchasing approvals were identified.

Funding discussions included a proposed $10 million state budget request for a new affordable-housing preservation program, a delegation member’s anticipated $2 million request for the Pentagon Memorial Education Center after $1 million was previously provided, and Arlington’s projected additional $80 million Metro contribution in FY2029. Board members also discussed local housing investments, state support for schools and emergency management, and the need for additional affordable-housing funding. Policy discussions covered building-code governance, condominium maintenance, faith-based housing, housing review processes, tenant protections, and e-bike regulation; these were agenda items and proposals, not adopted spending or procurement actions.
