The City of Boulder Human Relations Commission met on October 28, 2026. Commissioners approved the prior meeting’s minutes and set upcoming schedules: the November meeting will be Tuesday, November 17, there will be no regular December meeting because of a citywide boards-and-commissions gathering on December 7, and the commission expects to resume fourth-Wednesday meetings in January. A January 27 retreat was also discussed. No contracts, purchases, bids, or procurement actions were identified, and no spending vote was taken.

The commission discussed how to elevate parents’ concerns about the Boulder Valley School District after the superintendent declined an invitation to a public hearing; staff will invite community members to share concerns at the November meeting for possible follow-up. Members also discussed a planned energy survey in mobile-home communities and the San Lazaro park’s possible annexation, including reported infrastructure costs of $8–10 million and references to a possible $1.3 million loan or $1.7 million city offer; the amounts and terms were not clarified, and no funding decision was made. Staff also described a possible commission role advising city community engagement about technologies in use, including automated license plate readers.
