The October 2026 regular meeting of the Liliha-Puʻunui-ʻĀlewa Neighborhood Board No. 14, under the City and County of Honolulu Neighborhood Commission Office, was held October 30, 2026. Procurement-related discussion included the Board of Water Supply’s plans to seek additional generators for well operations during power outages and possible federal or other government subsidies; no purchase amount or procurement action was specified. Members also received an early update on a U.S. Department of Transportation Reconnecting Communities pilot grant-funded study of a possible freeway cap park over part of H-1. No design, long-term operator, maintenance funding, contract award, or vote was reported. The City said islandwide food-scrap collection had begun under the Grow program, with collected material processed by contracted company Hawaiian Earth Recycling. A senior center representative also reported that state grant-and-aid funding remained pending amid contract-processing delays. No spending or procurement motions or votes were taken.
Other topics included September fire and police statistics; Honolulu Police Department’s drone-as-first-responder program, which is operating in parts of Districts 1 and 5 with limited coverage; neighborhood concerns about parking, fencing, traffic safety, and crosswalks; and updates on city projects and transit. The board also heard reports on emergency preparedness, an upcoming charter-amendment vote, and community events.
