The City of Laredo Airport Advisory Board met on October 29, 2026. A citizen representing Freeman Jet Center asked the board to address airport land currently tied up by another party, saying the company is ready to finance and begin an FBO project. Because a real-estate transaction was not listed on the agenda, the board deferred substantive discussion and agreed to bring the matter back at a future meeting. Staff reported that a separate airport parcel had one bidder, SKJ, and that approximately 13 acres are currently available for negotiation. The board passed a motion to make available airport properties easier to find online; no land transaction or contract award was approved. Members also discussed a prospective multi-year contract with WBCA, without specifying terms or value.
Staff reported ongoing airport maintenance and planned terminal work, including restroom remodeling and construction of a TSA area expected to begin the following Monday; no project costs or procurement approvals were stated. Passenger traffic was slightly down year over year, while cargo and fuel sales were stronger than the prior year. The board approved moving its November and December meetings to November 18 and December 16. Staff also reported five delinquent accounts totaling $533.50.
