Extracurricular Committee Meeting 10/28/2026

The Stream Palisades Extracurricular Committee met on October 28, 2026. The committee received fall athletics updates and discussed proposed overnight trips for unified strength-and-conditioning state competition and boys’ and girls’ wrestling tournaments. The unified trip is contingent on qualification, with preliminary planning for up to 10 rooms; costs were not yet known. The wrestling trips are recurring events. Any trip requiring overnight travel will go to the full board for approval; no spending vote or contract decision was recorded at this meeting.

The committee reviewed a survey of 33 districts on pay-to-participate fees: 27 reported no formal fee, five reported a formal fee, and one used a booster-club arrangement. At Palisades, middle-school students do not pay, while the high-school fee was identified as $25 for JV and varsity athletes. The district collected approximately $7,475 in 2025–26; those funds go to the general fund and are not dedicated to athletics. Staff agreed to seek the participation rate and bring the information back for discussion. No motion or vote was recorded.
