At Corcoran Unified’s regular board meeting on October 28, 2026, trustees approved engaging School Services of California for a joint classified-employee compensation study with the district’s classified association. The study will review all 42 classified positions, including duties and compensation. Five firms were contacted, four submitted quotes, and the selected proposal was approximately $35,000, with possible additional expenses; the cost would come from the general fund. The board also approved the consent agenda, which included an amendment to the district’s existing medical-billing agreement, described as running through 2028 with an 8% cap. Public comment questioned the amendment and the lack of a new bid; district staff said the agreement was already in progress and that the fee is drawn from reimbursements.
The board tabled a proposed classified management ELO coordinator position pending additional information, including comparisons with other districts and compensation details. District staff cited about $1 million in annual ELO funding currently at risk of being returned and estimated potential attendance-recovery funding of roughly $500,000. Trustees approved creation of a Community Schools Engagement Coordinator position to support a state-funded program. The district expects nearly $1.3 million in Community Schools funds, with allocations described for multiple school sites; staff said a coordinator is required as part of the program plan. The meeting also included a student listening session and student recognitions, but no other procurement decisions were identified.
