The Walpole Conservation Commission meeting on October 28, 2026, primarily considered wetlands permits for development projects. For 745 Main Street LLC’s proposed convenience store and gas station, the applicant described a smaller building, reduced impervious area, and stormwater and spill-control measures near the Neponset River. The commission closed the hearing and voted to prepare an order of conditions, including monitoring of compensatory plantings, submission of double-walled fuel-tank and alarm details, stormwater maintenance requirements, and no further riverfront alteration. For AVO Fence Company’s proposed commercial building at 2160 Boston Providence Highway, the commission closed the hearing and voted to prepare an order with conditions addressing fire-department confirmation of access, a gate, weekly litter removal, snow-storage plans, and limits on riverfront alteration. The 9 Pinnacle Drive housing hearing was continued to November 18; the commission discussed having Beals and Thomas review revised plans and a stormwater report, using previously earmarked funds and obtaining an estimate and payment from Wall Street Development. No contract award or purchase was approved at this meeting.

The commission also approved its proposed 2027 meeting calendar and voted to have staff prepare the FY budget, due November 13, with routine adjustments such as postage and travel and otherwise a generally status-quo budget. A resident’s question about the Fire Station 2 timeline was deferred to a joint meeting with the Select Board on November 17. The commission discussed a complaint about running bamboo but noted it lacked authority to enter the property or require removal. No other procurement activity was identified.
