The City of Corpus Christi Planning Commission met on October 28, 2026. The commission approved a right-of-way dedication waiver, 4–3, for the proposed Seven Brew drive-through at 1305 Airline Road, then approved the related Wilkie Addition replat. Public Works clarified that Airline Road is built out and did not recommend the additional dedication. The commission also approved a replat at 5702 Ayers, a rezoning from Farm Rural to Single Family 6 for a proposed residential subdivision on Slough Road, and amendments to the transportation master plan for the Kitty Hawk development, including removing one proposed collector and reclassifying another. These were land-use and infrastructure actions; no contracts, vendor awards, or purchasing decisions were identified.

Development Services briefed the commission on a proposed overhaul of the short-term-rental ordinance, with no action taken. Proposed measures include stricter density, spacing, occupancy, parking, noise, licensing, inspection, and enforcement rules, with specified waiver requests routed to the commission. Staff said added positions and software may be funded through a cost-recovery fee increase; these costs were not included in the recently approved budget. The proposal was scheduled for City Council readings on November 10 and 17. Staff noted current annual permit fees are generally $250 and that citations may reach $500 per day.
