Franklin County Board of Commissioners general session, October 27, 2026. The board approved plans and specifications for the Zuber Road/Plum Run Drainage Improvement, Section 4, allowing the project to proceed to bidding. It awarded the Ferris Road Improvements contract to the lowest and best bidder, Strawser Paving Company, Inc., for $7,220,149.25; four bids were received. The board also approved a $13,624.13 decrease to CDM Smith’s Hot Ditch drainage design contract, revising it to $288,031.98. A Job and Family Services RFP resulted in selections of 25 community partners for out-of-school and summer learning programs, totaling $5,745,499.94. The board approved that resolution and a separate set of 101 purchase orders totaling $5,756,441.68. It also approved three purchase orders totaling $41,880; Commissioner Boyce abstained, and the resolution passed.

Other approved spending included a $30,000 contribution toward the 2026 Central Ohio Veteran Stand Down and renewal of a $4-per-base-fee allocation to the Recorder’s Technology Fund for 2027. The board extended the Franklin Park Conservatory Joint Recreation District term to support capital projects and preserve access to nearly $10 million in federal and state historic tax credits; a commissioner noted continuing concerns about county representation on the board and the park’s fencing strategy. The board also approved an interagency agreement addressing adult maltreatment. No procurement-related action was identified in the remaining annexation and boundary matters or the recognition of 911 telecommunicators.
