The City of Worcester Planning Board met on October 28, 2026. The board approved site-plan and related applications for a fire-extinguisher business storage building at 6/10 Woburn Street; two 12-unit apartment buildings at 0 Grafton Street, including inclusionary-zoning affordability provisions; a single-family home at 70 Summer Hill Avenue; and an eight-unit apartment building at 35–37 State Road. The 23 Everton Street application was continued so the applicant and city staff could investigate a possible conflict between the proposed house and a drainage line. Other routine subdivision-plan endorsements and scheduling and continuance motions were also approved. No contracts, vendor selections, or direct city purchasing awards were identified.
For street petitions, the board voted to make favorable recommendations to City Council for converting Migley Avenue and Esper Avenue to public streets, assigning priority levels of 1 and 2, respectively. DPW cited estimated costs of approximately $165,000 and $260,000; the transcript does not clearly associate each amount with a specific street. A resident raised road-condition and accessibility concerns. Staff also noted that funding could be allocated for board members’ training webinars, but no amount or formal spending vote was recorded.
