The Cape Cod Gateway Airport Commission met on October 27, 2026. It approved the updated FY2027–2032 capital improvement plan (CIP), covering projects including Taxiway Bravo and an airfield electrical vault, reconstruction of Runway 15/33, a possible runway extension, and Taxiway Delta. The sequence and scope reflect FAA design and pavement-strength requirements, environmental considerations, and efforts to reduce excavation and hauling. The presentation described a potential terminal expansion and hangar development, but no specific CIP project costs were stated. The FY2026 financial report showed approximately $16 million in revenue, $11.8 million in expenses, and $19.5 million in certified reserves; the airport noted that its operating revenue primarily comes from airport fees and leases, while major capital projects may receive FAA and state support.
The commission approved issuing an RFP for parking-lot management, currently handled by Republic Parking. The proposed term is five years, with two additional five-year options, and the RFP was expected to be released within a few weeks. The commission also reviewed and approved moving forward with an RFP for replacement of the unreliable parking access and revenue control system; it is anticipated as an FY2027 procurement, with no cost estimate given. Separately, the commission reported that it would repeat airport-manager finalist interviews in public session and vote on a selection, with possible executive-session discussion of contract-negotiation strategy afterward. No vendor selection or contract award was reported for that position.
