Tempe11Video held a virtual public engagement meeting on the Corona South Tempe Character Area Plan on October 28, 2026. Staff presented survey feedback and the draft plan’s principles for development aesthetics and housing, community amenities, transportation and connectivity, and sustainability. Priorities included preserving Southwestern, Spanish, and ranch-style character; lower-density development; shade and water-conscious landscaping; safe walking and biking connections; and a multigenerational or civic facility. A participant also asked that the plan recognize and support the community garden and fig garden; staff invited follow-up about zoning and related regulations.

The draft plan is open for public feedback through November 23. Staff expect to revise it based on comments, seek a Development Review Commission recommendation, likely in December, and bring it to City Council for potential adoption in January. No votes, contract awards, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
