The Oklahoma City Urban Design Commission met on October 28, 2026. The consent docket was approved, and the commission considered a zoning case for 21 South May Avenue and 2911 Southwest 11th Street involving a longstanding auto-salvage business in the Scenic River Overlay District. By a 4–1 vote, the commission recommended approval to the Planning Commission, with conditions including a required 10-foot perimeter fence and permission for vehicle bodies, auto parts, and shelving or racking behind it to extend no more than six feet above the fence. The motion also clarified that a car crusher or similar equipment must not be permanently affixed or permanently operating on site. The Planning Commission was expected to hear the matter on November 12; this was a recommendation, not final zoning approval.
Staff introduced a new zoning compliance officer and provided updates on development and design projects, including a neighborhood construction project, Rainbow Records’ ongoing revisions, and Route 66 signage and monuments. No contracts, vendor selections, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
