The Oregon City Library Board meeting on October 28, 2026, covered staffing, library services, facilities, and budget status. The library’s outreach vehicle, purchased from TechOps, had arrived and was unveiled at the October 3 Fall Fest; staff completed vehicle-use, safety, and driving training and are developing an outreach plan. The vehicle is intended for outreach and giveaways, not as a bookmobile. Basement office construction, previously approved by the City Commission, was in the planning and measuring stage, with completion expected by mid-December. No new procurement motions or spending votes were recorded, and the library budget was reported to be on track.

The board heard that the library discontinued Kanopy Kids after its annual price rose to $1,500 from less than $400, while retaining the general Kanopy service. Adult and teen creative kits were also discontinued because of their cost and staff time; children’s kits will continue, with funds directed toward in-person programming. Power is ready for the book lockers, though no installation date was available. The Friends of the Library is considering a different resale vendor amid concerns about how some used books may be handled. The board approved the August 2026 minutes; the September meeting had been canceled.
