The North Haven Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission’s regular meeting on October 28, 2026, addressed a major development application and a single-family home rebuild. For the 300 Elm Street investigation, the commission read a town-funded soil scientist’s report finding no wetlands or watercourses in the area under review. After deliberating on the larger development application, the commission voted unanimously to approve it with conditions, including a reported $715,000 construction bond, erosion-control inspections every two weeks and after rain events exceeding one inch, an invasive-species control and wetland mitigation plan with five years of monitoring (renewable), a dog-park waste-management plan, and an as-built plan before bond release. The approval also incorporated applicable staff and town engineer comments; the commission discussed not encouraging swimming in the pond.

The commission also unanimously approved the application for a teardown and rebuild of a single-family home at 401 Ives Street, subject to applicable staff and engineer comments and moving the proposed propane tanks outside the upland review area. No contracts, vendor selections, bids, or procurement actions were identified; the bond was a project-compliance requirement rather than a purchasing decision.
