The South Kingstown School Committee meeting on October 27, 2026, included three facility-related bid awards. The committee approved RFP SK0013 for district fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression-system inspection, testing, maintenance, and repairs to Precision Alarm Corporation, under a three-year arrangement. It also approved RFP 2474 for gym wall-padding replacement to National Equipment and Facility Solutions, and RFP 2475 for boiler replacement to Industrial Burners. The wall-padding and boiler work were identified as Capital Improvement Plan projects; officials said the projects would qualify for at least 35% reimbursement, with eligibility for a higher rate still to be explored. No contract amounts were stated. The transportation subcommittee also reported that staff are preparing an RFP for FY28 transportation services; the district is currently on a one-year contract, and no award was considered at this meeting.

Other business included student fundraiser approvals and presentations on student survey plans, assessment results, and state accountability. The district said a new student relationship survey would be supported by a Rhode Island Department of Education wellness grant. The committee discussed school parking and the effects on transportation, athletics, and community use, as well as its goal of making more data-informed decisions. Student recognitions were also presented. The meeting opened with an executive-session motion concerning personnel matters and the school safety plan; no related procurement action was identified.
