At the October 27, 2026 LaGrange City Council meeting, council approved the Lee Kum Kee economic development agreement unanimously, renewing and amending the city’s commitments for the company’s planned manufacturing facility. Those commitments include building a road, installing water, gas, and telecommunications infrastructure, and contributing $250,000 toward sewer improvements. The road’s latest estimate was about $3.1 million for a reduced scope without sidewalks; the city plans to seek a revised state grant scope. The motion included conditions on the road commitment and limited water service to the company’s latest demand estimates and ramp schedule. The project anticipates 256 jobs. Council also unanimously authorized negotiations to sell the city-owned home at 311 Creek Side for $226,000, with $225,000 as a possible negotiated price, and approved using SPLS funds to begin work on two pedestrian-safety intersections.
By a 4–1 vote, council approved a no-cost initial agreement with the Power of Peace Project to assess youth violence and help develop a plan. The city agreed to facilitate introductions to potential funders and community organizations; the project seeks to raise about $300,000, and any implementation agreement would be considered separately after the assessment and funding. Council also discussed a gravel-parking-lot special-use matter, with a member raising concerns about applying standards consistently with the city’s gravel lot at Granger Park. No other procurement awards or contract purchases were identified.
