The City of Homestead’s Council, Local Planning Agency, and presentation meetings were held October 28, 2026. Procurement-related actions included approval of a resolution authorizing purchases of IT hardware, software, maintenance, and related services through competitively bid cooperative contracts, including Florida DMS and GSA vehicles, up to $5,668,842, subject to budget availability. Council also approved the final landscape design for the tree canopy expansion project, subject to grant-agency approval and applicable procurement requirements; amended the CDBG FY 2025–26 action plan to reallocate funds; approved a real-property purchase without a dollar amount stated; and approved the 2026–27 Winter Wonderland experience and ice-rink admission rates. No vendor selection or new contract award was identified for these items. Separately, council approved an $80,000 payment from Silver Arrow Clean Company in exchange for release of the city’s recorded development agreement obligations; this was a settlement receipt, not city spending.
Council approved a master-plan amendment and site plan for an approximately 84,684-square-foot warehouse in the Homestead Park of Commerce, and approved a residential site-plan amendment allowing up to 15 two-story homes subject to location restrictions. The Local Planning Agency recommended approval of a future-land-use amendment and rezoning for an approximately 2.69-acre, eight-home project; council approved both on first reading, with second readings scheduled for November 18. Council also approved support for the South Dade Aerospace and Defense Corridor, a regional economic-development initiative, and heard plans for a 1,200-seat aerospace-focused high school, though no related procurement or funding commitment was approved. An ordinance updating parking-district standards and allowing administrative site-plan review passed first reading; council members flagged the need to clarify how the changes interact with mobile-vendor rules before further consideration.
