The Bastrop City Council meeting on October 27, 2026, included procurement and infrastructure actions. Council unanimously approved a resolution supporting a Community Development Block Grant application for Hunter Crossing drainage improvements, estimated at $800,000, with a proposed $680,000 grant and $120,000 city match; the project would address downstream flooding and requires further scope and engineering review. Council also unanimously awarded Renegade Group the contract for the fourth feeder system improvement and Mercedes reconductor projects for $799,532.43. Three qualified bids were received, with the other bids substantially higher; the council discussed the price gap before approving the award. A first reading of a FY2027 budget amendment covering $293,607 in replacement vehicles for the water, wastewater, and streets and drainage departments passed unanimously and was advanced for a second reading on November 3.

Council received a briefing, but took no action, on a proposed countywide renumbering of State Highway 71 addresses to reduce 911 dispatch confusion. Council members and a business owner urged broader business participation and extensive public outreach because of the costs and disruption of address changes. The meeting also included first-reading ordinance actions concerning removal of obsolete automated red-light-camera provisions and rules for scooters and bicycles. No vendor or contract decision was associated with those ordinance items.
