ECS Board of School Trustees’ Meeting 10/28/26

The Elkhart Community Schools Board of School Trustees held a special meeting on October 28, 2026, to consider adoption of the 2027 budget. The board unanimously approved the proposed budget, the 2027 capital projects plan, the 2027 school bus replacement plan, and related budget resolutions. No vendor selections, contract awards, or bids were discussed.

The resolutions authorize transfers of up to $9 million from the Education Fund to the Operations Fund in 2027, allow the CFO to adjust 2026 and proposed 2027 budgets as needed during the state’s budget review, and provide authority to issue tax anticipation warrants if needed, though the district does not currently plan to use them. The board also approved a tax-neutrality resolution related to the pension bond, as required by state statute.
