SRUSD Board Meeting - Oct. 28th, 2026

The Santa Rita Union School District Board meeting was held October 28, 2026. The board approved consent agenda items 5.1–5.4 and, by 3–0 votes, approved two full-time teaching positions for the 2026–27 school year: a general education teacher for sixth grade at JGMS and an RSP teacher supporting special education programs at JGMS and Santa Rita. The board also approved Resolution 26.10.22, reducing the district’s general fund reserve limit from 17% to 15%; the district stated that this retains the 3% state-required reserve and leaves a 12% additional district reserve, providing more flexibility for current and future priorities. No contract awards, bids, vendors, or specific procurement amounts were identified.

Other discussion included the district’s transition to a research-based school climate survey, student behavior and counseling supports, and preparation for possible flooding and weather-related disruptions. The district noted that it funds eligible students’ participation in city-run Pee Wee basketball and other activities through ELOP when district facilities are unavailable. The next regular meeting was announced for November 18, 2026.
