The Reno County Board of County Commissioners meeting was held October 28, 2026. The board approved an easement for transmission lines associated with a new power plant; commissioners questioned the amount of compensation, which was not specified in the easement beyond “$10 and other valuable considerations.” Staff recalled that payment might be a few thousand dollars but could not confirm the amount. The easement was approved 4–1. The board also approved, 4–1, an amendment closing out a $500,000 ARPA subrecipient award to SKED for housing rehabilitation. The original plan was to renovate five homes, but three were purchased, rehabilitated, and sold.

The community corrections annual report highlighted funding concerns rather than new procurement: the presenter said state funding changes could leave more than 100 youth-serving programs without funding after June 30, including Reno County mentoring and substance-abuse programs. The report also described state funding-formula work and advocacy to restore funds to the evidence-based practices account. The board adopted a new employee social media policy and a revised electronic media/mobile-device/training policy. No other contract awards or purchasing decisions were identified.
