The Cuyahoga Falls City School District Board of Education held its regular meeting on October 28, 2026. The board unanimously approved the treasurer’s consent agenda and the September 2026 investment schedule and monthly spending. The treasurer reported approximately $61 million in general-fund cash at the end of September, said the district had spent the remaining local share of project funds, and cautioned that cash flow would tighten in coming months. Members also discussed a possible food-service fund shortfall, federal reimbursements, and whether the district may qualify for the Community Eligibility Provision. The superintendent’s consent agenda, which included an Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio service proposal for a student’s residential placement and an adjustment reflecting the minimum wage increase from $11 to $11.40, was approved. The board also approved an administrative contract appointing Elizabeth Smith as transportation supervisor, effective October 29, 2026.
The board conducted a first reading of policy revisions, including purchasing procedures; the revisions are scheduled for consideration at a future meeting. No RFPs, vendor selections, or procurement contract awards were identified. The next meeting, on November 18, is expected to include approval and discussion of a financial recovery plan. The meeting also recognized students and covered school programs, safety preparations, and board members’ reports.
