The October 29, 2026, meeting of Lawrence’s Environmental Sustainability Advisory Board focused on reviewing proposed sustainability key performance indicators (KPIs) and organizing the board’s work for the coming year. Members discussed measures related to green infrastructure, stormwater and watershed protection, food-waste composting, commercial and apartment recycling, public outreach, and tracking city budget spending related to sustainability. They also discussed potential future policy ideas, including reducing single-use plastics, but adopted no new policy or funding commitment. No contracts, vendor selections, purchases, or other procurement activity were identified.
The board unanimously approved the August 27 minutes and elected Nancy Muma as chair and Patrick Ross as vice chair. Members agreed that the chair and vice chair would revise the KPI draft to reflect the discussion and bring it back for review before submission to the city. The board also discussed rescheduling November and December meetings and identifying future priorities, possible subcommittees, and meeting-duration expectations.
