Budget Board Special Meeting 10/29/2026

The Oklahoma County Budget Board met in a special meeting on October 29, 2026, to review revisions to the county budget report following 13 recommendations from the Budget Evaluation Team (BET). County Clerk staff described updates including revised schedules, added financial detail, checks and fund totals reconciled, and nine judgments incorporated into the sinking-fund calculations (six recommended by BET and three additional judgments). The sinking-fund levy was recalculated from 2.22 to 2.63 mills; the 10.35-mill general-fund levy is separate. The board also discussed outstanding questions about the report and the need for members to review the revised figures.

The District Attorney cautioned that the posted agenda did not identify the 2.63-mill sinking-fund levy and raised concerns about public notice and potential litigation. After discussing deadlines and the Excise Board’s availability, the Budget Board voted 6–1 to hold an emergency meeting at 3:00 p.m. that day, with the levy amount to be clearly included in the notice. A citizen comment raised concerns about public trust and transparency. No procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified.
