City School Board - October 27, 2026

The Murfreesboro City Schools Board meeting was held October 27, 2026. The board approved several procurement- and budget-related items: a FY27 amendment recognizing a $6,500 Conference USA grant for district music and library resources; a transfer of $70,000 within the maintenance budget for an Everon fire-suppression contract previously approved in September; and a summer-school carryover amendment of about $99,000 to support required tutoring services. It also approved an agreement with Master Fence LLC for a Mitchell Nelson Primary School fence project costing no more than $3,677, and a trial flooring agreement with Bonitz Incorporated costing no more than $1,900. The flooring trial does not commit the district to either product or vendor for future work; any larger project will use a separate formal competitive procurement process. These items were approved by board vote.

The board also approved the membership of a social studies textbook adoption committee. The committee will review state-approved materials, gather parent feedback, and bring a recommendation to the board next semester; no curriculum selection or cost was presented for approval at this meeting. The board additionally approved the revenue and expenditure report and other routine agenda items. No other contract awards or purchasing decisions were identified.
