The City of Sioux Falls Audit Committee met October 27, 2026, to review audit recommendations and reports. Internal Audit reported that updated capital-improvement project procedures took effect October 1; alcohol-license reconciliations and payroll access controls were implemented, while reporting under the Bishop Dudley hospitality agreement remained in progress. The committee approved the fuel site and use audit. The audit noted that the City spends about $3 million annually on fuel and recommended routine review of fueling-system access, additional site signage, and documenting fire-extinguisher inspections on bulk fuel trucks. No fuel contract or purchasing action was considered.
The committee also approved an audit of plat-fee calculations, collection, and recording. Findings included duplicate active user accounts in the EnerGov system; management planned an access-review process by January 1 and agreed to use a standard form and retain documentation for plat-fee refunds. In a separate discussion of background checks for alcohol-license applicants, members voted 4–1 to retain the existing process without changes. No contract awards, vendor selections, or procurement approvals were identified.
