The Ann Arbor Independent Community Police Oversight Commission meeting was held October 27, 2026. The commission approved the agenda and September 29 minutes. Its only identified purchasing action was approval, by motion, of purchasing six commission-branded mugs for new commissioners and other uses; no cost or vendor was stated. No contracts, bids, or other procurement or budget decisions were discussed. The new police-department Taser was discussed in connection with officer training and possible future training for commissioners, not as a purchase decision.

The commission welcomed new members and a new Professional Standards sergeant, reviewed committee work and complaint oversight, and discussed the city council’s newly adopted bill of rights for unhoused residents. A motion to support that resolution was deferred until commissioners could review its language, with consideration planned for November. Discussion of possible changes to commission bylaws and term limits was also postponed to November, and the commission noted a vacancy following a member’s resignation.
