The Upper Darby Township Zoning Hearing Board meeting on October 27, 2026, considered seven land-use applications. The board approved two applications concerning enclosed garages, including one by a 2–1 vote; approved a variance for continued professional-office use on the first floor of a historic residence, with conditions including a prohibition on short-term rentals; and continued application 10-5 to November 24 because of a procedural issue. It also approved off-site parking relief for a proposed 24-hour Fusion Gym at 2 South 69th Street, conditioned on an addendum granting the tenant non-exclusive use of the affiliated 537-space garage at 6869 Chestnut Street.

For redevelopment of the former Sears building at 150 69th Street, the board approved several requested parking and site-design variances, including a plan for 267 on-site spaces where 314 are required, with additional parking expected at the affiliated garage. It denied the requested variance allowing trucks to back out onto the street, and the approval was subject to conditions and further township review. The board also approved a variance for a residential storage shed, subject to conditions. No public procurement, contract awards, or government spending decisions were identified; the discussion concerned zoning relief for private properties and redevelopment projects.
