The Hamilton City Schools Board of Education work meeting on October 27, 2026, heard presentations on kindergarten camp and the new leadership of the OPSI 151 union, then approved the Caring Closet resolution and lease unanimously. The lease provides the student-support organization with space to improve access to clothing and other necessities; no lease amount was stated. The board also approved the HR, consent, and finance agendas. The consent agenda included grants for the Miami School’s Chamber partnership and early-childhood education, food-service agreements with Boys and Girls Club and Booker T. Washington (with the agencies billed, so the district does not bear the meal cost), and other student-service contracts. These included two out-of-district special-education placements at Warren County ESC costing approximately $67,000 and $70,000, plus occupational therapy, tutoring, and mental-health services; no vendors or amounts were specified for those other services.
The finance agenda, also approved, included a requisition for athletics and reported more than $28,000 in donations for the month. The superintendent noted that two Wilson Middle School grants would support Veterans Day activities. In executive session, the board considered the sale of property through competitive bidding and public-employee negotiations, but no related decision was reported in the transcript. The board also adopted a resolution on expense reimbursement, discussing the possibility of waiving repayment in verified exceptional circumstances. No competitive-bid award or vendor selection was announced.
