9.14.26 Study Session

The Sultan School District Board held a study session on September 14, 2026. Gold Bar Elementary’s principal presented updates on new staff, the launch of a new literacy curriculum, reading activities, lunch and physical-education routines, and plans to explore after-school art clubs. The board discussed enrollment and space constraints, including strong kindergarten demand and students being directed to other schools because Gold Bar lacks available space. Members then toured the school.

The board also reviewed proposed resolutions for an upcoming General Assembly, including discussion of proposals concerning firearm safety education and concerns about language related to firearm storage in homes. A member agreed to check discrepancies in the worksheet listing recommendations. The session was set to proceed to executive session. No procurement activity, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified.
