Riverview School District board meeting, September 14, 2026: Draw Collective presented the 100% schematic design for the Junior-Senior High School addition. Gateway Engineers has completed site surveying and is preparing geotechnical work; design development will refine building systems and produce an updated, third-party cost estimate, targeted for a future board presentation. The project was described as involving about $10 million in taxpayer funds. The board discussed forming a Buildings and Grounds ad hoc committee to support project oversight and community input, but no committee decision was made. The superintendent also said the district is exploring grant opportunities to help offset project costs. A separate suggestion to acquire and develop a district-controlled practice field was raised for future consideration, with no spending decision made.

The board reviewed proposed finance items for a later voting meeting, including cafeteria renovation payments and change orders: Merit Electrical Group, $78,480; K&K Mechanical Services, $78,132.91; PSI asbestos testing, $1,285; a Graham Construction change-order decrease of $91,495.68 and listed increases; S&T Plumbing, $1,717.79; and Great Lakes Cafeteria Equipment, reported at approximately $91,509. It also reviewed a Huckerstein Mechanical quote of $18,424.38 for a hot-water tank and expansion tank at Verner Elementary, along with a Draw Collective invoice of $27,737.25 for the high school addition. Members discussed cafeteria-project delays, including asbestos abatement, and requested an update on meal availability. These were discussion and review items for the next voting meeting; no procurement approvals or spending votes occurred at this meeting.
