August 17, 2026 Board of Directors Regular Meeting

The August 17, 2026 regular Board of Directors meeting focused on preparations for the school year, implementation of the district’s strategic plan, staff and school reconfiguration, and summer facilities work. The board approved the consent agenda, which included personnel items, payroll and accounts payable vouchers, interlocal agreements, and other routine matters. In its financial update, staff reported a capital projects fund progress payment of just under $600,000 to KCDA for the North Taps Middle School field improvement project. The district also reported progress on a roofing project completed by BNR Roofing, continued work on the North Taps turf track and field, and improvements to the transportation lot; no new competitive bid or contract award was described.

The board approved an update to Policy 6210 establishing that contracts exceeding $75,000 will be brought to the board on the consent agenda for approval, with information about each contract, to strengthen spending oversight. The board also discussed whether to use a capital-projects reserve funded by a prior property sale for another purpose; any change would require board action, and no decision was made. Other policy updates were presented for a future meeting, including a proposed sliding-fee option for transition-to-kindergarten enrollment if space is available in a future year.
