At the October 28, 2026 Eatonville School Board of Directors business meeting, the board approved an interlocal agreement allowing students to participate in diploma programs through Northwest Career and Technical High School at Clover Park Technical College, creating an additional career-training pathway. The board also took up a 2026–27 PSE/ESD interlocal agreement for case-management services, including BCBA support, but the transcript does not capture a clear vote or final disposition. The consent agenda was approved; a presenter noted that the monthly payroll included in it was approximately $2.5 million. No competitive bids, RFPs, or vendor award decisions were clearly identified.
Much of the discussion focused on district finances and future budget priorities. The district reported enrollment about 19 students above budget in October and projected an approximately $1 million year-end fund balance, compared with a high of $5.8 million in 2021–22. Speakers cited rising insurance, fuel, and utility costs—including a roughly $250,000 insurance increase and diesel rising from about $5 to $7.31 per gallon—as pressures, and discussed community input on spending priorities, possible delays to planned expenditures, and pursuing grants for school-safety improvements. The board also discussed advocacy for increased state funding and regionalization; no new spending allocation or capital project approval was recorded.
