Board Meeting 9/23/2026

The Riverside School District Board of Directors met on September 23, 2026. In its budget and facilities update, district staff said a contract for a high-school project—transcribed as a “tour” project—would be brought to the October meeting for possible approval. Work is expected to start shortly after the new year and finish in April or May. Staff also reported pursuing possible construction or HVAC grants through OSPI or the Washington State Department of Commerce to support aging facilities; no grant amounts or project costs were provided. The district reported enrollment was down about 41 students and said it would continue monitoring enrollment and seeking grant opportunities.

The board approved an interagency agreement with Spokane Colleges to add a pathway from the Open Doors program into an associate degree, and approved the 2026–27 ESD 101 PD Enroller, Safe Schools, and MTSS/PLC collaborative-practices agreements. No dollar amounts were stated. The superintendent also reported a three-year Positive Coaching Alliance agreement. Public comment focused on school matters, including staff-student boundaries, classroom instruction, and student-athlete eligibility; no related purchasing or policy action was taken.
