The Riverside School District Board meeting on October 21, 2026, included budget and facilities updates. The district reported enrollment below budget by 44 students and said it was managing spending while maintaining reserves for aging-building repairs. Recent costs included tree removal just under $10,000, a Riverside Elementary library window replacement over $5,000, gym refinishing, and a dishwasher repair estimated just under $10,000 that may be submitted as an insurance claim. The board discussed HVAC needs and grant funding, including a reported $600,000 urgent repair grant and a chiller project for which design work was nearly complete; equipment ordering was expected to begin shortly, with completion planned before cooling was needed in spring. McKinstry also outlined energy audits and potential future state and Commerce retrofit grants. The board approved an investment-grade audit proposal; the discussion indicated that approval would satisfy a state reporting requirement and would not commit the district to construction work.
The board also approved an ESD 101 migration success agreement for transitioning the district’s Skyward student, finance, payroll, and HR systems to an updated platform, with staff training and support planned. No contract amounts were stated for either approved agreement. Other discussion covered a November vote on education funding, school improvement planning, and leadership and athletics initiatives; no additional procurement action was identified.
