Coeur d’Alene Public Schools’ Monthly Board Workshop on October 26, 2026, included an update on school facility projects funded outside the levy. The district reported an overall budget of about $3.8 million for 2026 projects and actual costs just under $2.4 million; approximately $410,000 remained unallocated, while insurance and FEMA were expected to cover about $650,000 related to storm damage at Jordan Court. Work included HVAC, roofing, plumbing, cafeteria and restroom remodels, tennis-court resurfacing, and other maintenance. The district said many projects were competitively bid and came in under budget. A prior board approval authorized replacement bleachers at several schools, and fire-system projects at Coeur d’Alene High School, Fernan, and Hayden Meadows were bid and deferred to summer 2027.
The district also outlined upcoming work, including secondary-school Wi-Fi access points with 50% federal E-rate reimbursement, restroom and interior work at Ramsey, and further Woodland improvements, currently budgeted at about $3 million. No new procurement award or spending motion was identified during the workshop. The board also received an informational presentation on a proposed partnership with Access for Idaho for a federal education tax-credit scholarship program beginning in 2027; the district expressed interest in exploring next steps, including a donation portal. Other reports covered staff and student demographics and the district’s organization chart.
