The City of Pittsburg, Kansas City Commission met October 27, 2026. Southeast Kansas Community Action Program (SEK-CAP) presented its fixed-route Pac Bus service and requested continued city support for general public transportation. The city has budgeted $43,000 for 2027, up from historical annual support of $33,000; the presentation did not result in a vote on additional funding or a contract award. SEK-CAP reported projected 2026 ridership of about 18,000 with one Pac Bus, described rising operating and vehicle costs, and said it was preparing to implement non-emergency medical transportation reimbursements. Commissioners encouraged the organization to collect rider demographic information to support future funding requests. Limelight Marketing presented the redesigned city website, which it delivered on time, on budget, and within scope; no project dollar amount was stated. The city also reported paying CivicPlus $6,400 for a legal review of the municipal code.

The commission approved a series of code amendments following that review, including updated public-records fees based on actual cost recovery and removal of the city permit requirement for nonprofit solicitations. It also approved revised consumer-fireworks rules, including distance requirements near fuel pumps and bulk fuel storage, and updated other provisions concerning the airport, insurance liens, and licensing. These actions may affect local organizations and businesses, but no new procurement awards or purchasing approvals were identified. The commission canceled its November 10 and 24 meetings and scheduled a special meeting for November 17; it likewise canceled the December 8 and 22 meetings and scheduled a meeting for December 15.
