At its October 27, 2026 administrative meeting, the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners approved several procurement- and investment-related items. The Board advanced four housing projects representing more than $69 million in private investment and 217 units: a multifamily revenue bond not to exceed $6.5 million for 61 senior apartments; a taxable industrial revenue bond up to $10.13 million for Film Yards LLC’s digital production stages and training facilities; and property-tax-exemption arrangements for workforce housing projects including Casa Marbella and Parkside. The Board also approved an amendment to the Village at Avalon affordable-housing lease and a Pablano Place operating budget funded by rental revenue, including two added positions. For transportation infrastructure, it approved a construction agreement with Albuquerque Asphalt for the Talbason Road project, with a bid of just over $2.3 million, and approved the Fourth Street reconstruction project, funded in part by $2.7 million in county bonds, after the original contractor withdrew its bid and the project was rebid. The Board accepted a $1.05 million U.S. Department of Justice grant for Sheriff’s Office forensic and crime-scene equipment, training, and personnel.
For Metropolitan Detention Center healthcare, commissioners approved $534,230 to reconcile FY2026 costs and $1.5 million for the FY2027 healthcare budget, and selected the staff-recommended healthcare delivery model. They also authorized the county manager to seek permission to use up to $30 million from reserves for transition costs and to make emergency procurements related to the fentanyl crisis; quarterly reporting to the Commission was added. The Board introduced, with amendments, the county’s 2027 legislative priorities, including funding requests for housing, behavioral health, public safety, and infrastructure; final consideration is scheduled for November 10. No vendor was identified in the transcript for the Fourth Street contract award.
