📚 Education 🚨 Public Safety Physical Infrastructure

Regular Northwest ISD Board meeting, October 26, 2026. The board approved, 7–0, the 2026–2027 school resource officer agreement with the City of Fort Worth. In response to a student’s concerns about school safety, administrators clarified that the agreement covers two SROs, while each high school also has three district-employed, unarmed security monitors who patrol and observe and report. The board also approved, 7–0, the district’s five-year early literacy, math, and college, career, and military readiness goals. Separately, it found that good cause did not exist for two educators’ contract resignations and authorized the superintendent or designee to file complaints with the State Board for Educator Certification.

Financial and investment reports described expenses as generally tracking near the prior year and reported approximately $9.1 million in first-quarter interest earnings; officials said capital-project interest is restricted to capital uses. The facilities report covered ongoing construction at Central Transportation, Eaton, Byron Nelson, and Davis High School, including delays and the ordering and installation of air-conditioning units; no construction contract award or project cost was presented. The board also approved the consent agenda, with item B removed for separate consideration, 7–0.
