10-27-2026 Planning Board Meeting

The City of Ithaca Planning Board met on October 27, 2026. No contracts, bids, vendor selections, or procurement spending were discussed. The board approved a sign-design waiver for Freeman Chiropractic Wellness; preliminary site-plan approval for Waters Edge at 683 Third Street; a corrected subdivision approval for Orchard Subdivision; and final site-plan approval for the SouthWorks Gateway project, with an added requirement to provide staff with information on the location and type of interior and exterior bike racks. These approvals concern private development and site improvements rather than city purchasing decisions.

The board also discussed Building 21 renovations and neighborhood concerns about traffic, school-bus circulation, and daycare access on Turner Place. The applicant will return with a traffic study and additional materials, including landscape and noise information; no site-plan approval was taken at this meeting. The board approved a SEQR negative declaration for another building renovation project before proceeding to later site-plan review.
