The Harrisburg City School District Board of School Directors held its general business meeting on October 27, 2026. The board approved ratification of the Living Unlimited agreement for music therapy in intensive autism classrooms; the motion passed 7–1. The contract amount was not stated. The board also approved a Blue Mountain Thrift LLC agreement as an immediate action item, described as being at no cost to the district. The arrangement provides a local donation-and-gift-card resource for families of students experiencing homelessness. An affiliation agreement with Slippery Rock University was approved unanimously; it permits university students to gain clinical experience working with district social workers, involves no exchange of funds, and is for five years. No other dollar amounts or contract values were identified.

The meeting also included updates on district academics, enrollment, student safety discussions planned for November, and a potential expansion at Dauphin County Technical School, which remained under discussion without a funding or approval decision. Board members discussed state cell-phone restrictions and concerns about unequal grant funding to help districts implement them. The board removed policy item 712 from consideration because it had not appeared on the publicly posted agenda. A Refugee School Impact Grant was discussed in connection with student programming and previously purchased cameras, but no new grant allocation or procurement action was approved.
