October 27th 2026 Regular Board of Elections Meeting

The Fayette County Board of Elections’ regular meeting was held October 27, 2026. The board approved the agenda and September 22 meeting minutes unanimously. Director Garrett reported 100,160 registered voters, 93,783 active voters, 1,480 accepted absentee ballots, ongoing poll-worker training, and strong early-voting turnout. She also discussed the upcoming risk-limiting audit and reported that election equipment had been showcased on October 7. Board members were invited to provide feedback through the Gabrio portal, but no equipment vendor was selected and no purchase or contract approval was made.

The board requested that future voter-cancellation reports be organized by date and category; the director agreed. Members expressed support for considering poll-worker recognition in next year’s budget, but no budget allocation or formal spending action was taken. The attorney also reported that county commissioners had adopted a resolution asking the General Assembly to stagger certain board-member terms.
