Brevard County’s Opioid Misuse Abatement Advisory Committee met on October 27, 2026, to review opioid-settlement-funded services, the countywide “Space for Recovery” awareness campaign, and upcoming funding plans. Providers Steps, Recovery Connections, and Circles of Care reported on treatment, peer support, housing connections, outreach, and naloxone distribution. Circles of Care said its jail-based medication-assisted treatment program was awaiting contracts with pharmacy and jail medical-service partners, including Wellpath, and anticipated starting in the coming weeks. The committee also received notice that Brevard County had opted into an additional, unspecified Albertsons settlement payment. A second funding wave of $5.9 million had previously been awarded to Circles of Care, Steps, and Recovery Connections; the amount was described as combined funding across years.

The campaign’s contractor, CTS Agency, presented a proposed community-prevention RFP funded from its opioid-abatement marketing budget. The plan is to make two awards of $30,000 each—one for programs serving pre-K through grade 8 and one for high-school- through college-age youth. Applicants must already serve Brevard County and meet experience and financial-accountability criteria. Board members were asked to serve on the selection panel, with evaluation scheduled for December 1–8; the transcript does not record a final selection of panel members or a committee vote approving the RFP. Staff also noted that CTS’s county agreement permits subawards. The committee reviewed its implementation plan, already submitted to DCF, and established quarterly meetings; no other procurement award or spending vote was recorded.
