At the October 26, 2026, LexRich5 Board meeting, the superintendent reported on district performance and finances. The 2026 school report-card presentation noted that all 22 schools were rated average or higher, the four-year graduation rate reached 91.8%, and three of four high schools earned excellent ratings. The board also discussed declining enrollment, tight cash flow, rising operating costs, and the district’s explanation that staff bonuses depend on reserves exceeding a 2.4-month benchmark. Finance staff said payroll and bill payments were secure, though cash was tighter than desired. In response to a board question, staff agreed to review whether unspent capital-designated fund balance could be returned to operations; no decision on a bonus or fund transfer was made.

Operations staff presented bond and facilities updates, reporting approximately $18 million in projected savings or amounts under budget across bond projects, with additional projects potentially coming in under budget. The presentation included conceptual improvements to outdoor areas at several middle schools, HVAC updates, and the upcoming Dutch Fork Elementary School groundbreaking. Construction on classroom walls at Harbison West and Nursery Road was expected to begin in November; the contract includes a completion deadline and liquidated damages for delay. The board discussed reviewing expiring maintenance contracts, potentially dividing districtwide work into smaller bids, and considering qualified local vendors, but no procurement action or contract award was taken. Financial staff also reported increased contractual-service costs, including special-education staffing, and said budget transfers were presented for review.
